PAULINE P. MERRILL – DOVER-FOXCROFT – Pauline P. Merrill, 87, wife of the late Robert H. Merrill, died Sept. 21, 2008, at a local nursing home. She was born July 31, 1921, in Palmyra, the daughter of C. Earle and Elizabeth (Thompson) Parkman. She was a graduate of Milo High School, Class of 1939. Polly was a member of the Red Hat Society and Piscataquis Valley Snowmobile Club. An avid golfer, she was proud of her two holes-in-one. She loved to sew, knit and crochet, and contributed often to Linus Quilts. Polly was well known in the area for her beautiful hooked rugs. She is survived by a son, Tim and his wife, Barbara, of Dover-Foxcroft; a daughter, Melinda Covel of Dade City, Fla.; a brother, Wesley Parkman of Dover-Foxcroft; three sisters, Eleanor Heath of Milo, Regina Ernest of Greenbank, Wash., and Blanche Degerstrom of Houston; five grandchildren, Heather Briggs, Sean Covel, Hayden Merrill, Ross Merrill and Oliver Merrill; and six great-grandchildren, Kayla Briggs, Zachary Briggs, Ian Covel, Eric Covel, Mason Merrill and Carter Merrill. She was predeceased by a brother, Keith Parkman; and a sister, Earla Miller. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, with the Rev.
