OLD TOWN and CLEAR-WATER, Fla. – Alfred E. Craig, 88, passed away, April 14, 2005 in Clearwater, Fla. He was born June 24, 1916, in Old Town, the son of William E. and Flora E. (Badger) Craig. Al was educated in the Old Town public school system, and was a graduate in 1936 of the New England School of Embalming of Boston, Mass. Following graduation from mortuary school, he returned to Old Town where he owned and operated the Craig Funeral Home, serving his community with care and compassion until 1965. In 1966, Al moved to Clearwater, Fla. where he was a member of Skycrest United Methodist Church. He was a longtime member of No. 60 AF & AM of Old Town, member of Scottish Rites Bodies, Valley of Bangor, of the Maine Consistory 32nd degree Mason, Valley of Portland and Anah Temple Shrine of Bangor. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Sewak) Craig of Maine and Clearwater, Fla.; two sons, William E. Craig of Florida, and Caryl A. Craig of California; one daughter, Deborah Hedges of California, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Arlene; and his second wife, Ruby. Al’s family and friends mourn their loss, but celebrate the memory of the abundant joy and love he freely gave them throughout his long life.
