HOPKINTON, N.H. – Dorothy Blanche Davis, 87, died April 13, 2005, at Harris Hill Center, Concord, N.H. She was born Nov. 29, 1917, in Mariaville the daughter of Ralph and Mattie (Frost) Foster. Prior to moving to Hopkinton, N.H., in 2004, she resided in Veazie for more than 40 years with her husband, Hugh Davis Jr., who died in 1994. After 35 years working at the Pilot’s Grill in Bangor, she retired in 1982. Dorothy was an avid reader and benefited from frequent visits to the Hopkinton Town Library. She is survived by two sons, Raymond Dunham of Hopkinton and Brent Davis of Nashua; two daughters, Madalene Salvas of Concord and Shirley Kotzmoyer of Alexandria, Va.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchild-ren; five sisters, Mary Bragg, Eleanor O’Halloran, Lillian Tucker, Barbara Scott and Marlene Howard; two brothers, Ralph Foster and Norman Foster. She was predeceased by an infant son, Richard, in 1935; and a daughter, Vivian Bracey, who died in 1990 in Bangor. She was predeceased by her brother, Arno in 1981; and her sisters, Norma, in 1934, Flora in 1937, Thelma in 1982, Isabelle in 1998, and Maxine in 2002. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, director of chaplaincy services at EMMC officiating. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery, Veazie. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., immediately following the service Saturday.
