NEWPORT – Alfred Joseph Kenneway III, 74, died peacefully July 12, 2006, at his Golf Course Road residence after a long illness. He was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Worcester, Mass., a son of Alfred and Myrtle (Ireland) Kenneway Jr. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Alfred retired as a software engineer for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, NASA. He is survived by his wife, Francesca (Deery) Kenneway of Newport; and a sister, Phyllis Carmody of Englewood, Fla. There will be no viewing or services at this time.
