FORT KENT – Joseph Elmer Gagnon, 89, died July 11, 2006, at a Madawaska healthcare facility. He was born Oct. 24, 1916, in Wallagrass, the son of Alfred and Marceline (St. Germain) Gagnon. Mr. Gagnon was a long time carpenter in the Fort Kent and Valley area. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of the VFW Lozier O’Grady Post 9609 of Fort Kent and a member of the DAV. He is survived by his wife, Blandine (Michaud) Gagnon of Fort Kent; two sons, Alphonse Dudly Gagnon and his wife, Pamela, of Wallingford, Conn. and Fredrick Gagnon and his wife, Gayle, of Mars Hill; three daughters, Norma Deschaine and her husband, Reginald, of Fort Kent, Patricia Thibodeau and her husband, Fredrick, of Chugiak, Alaska and Marie L. Stickford and her husband, Malcolm, of Fairland, Ind.; one brother, Richard of Utah; three sisters, Cynthia Hylton and Theresa Pinette of North Haven, Conn. and Tina Hansen of Florida; one sister-in-law, Laurina Gagnon of Fort Kent; nine grandchildren, Tonya, Keven, Tina, Theresa, Regina, Fredrick Jr., Kristy, Shantal and Lee; two stepgrandchildren, Benjamin and Tiffany; five great-grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 14, at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent and 8 a.m. Saturday until time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services, with full military honors, will be held after the service in the parish cemetery. Those who wish, may donate in his memory to the Edgar J.
