EASTON – Alfred W. Flewelling, 71, passed away surrounded by his loving family at the home of Paula and Faye York on Dec.10, 2003. He was born Feb. 12, 1932, the son of Lincoln and Dora (Fuller) Flewelling of Easton. Alfred’s work ethic was evident throughout his years of employment for Bartley Builders and the Easton School Department. He loved to read, hike, cross country ski, camp, fish, hunt, ride his bike, walk in the woods and gather with the family around campfires. His greatest love was his family to whom he was totally devoted. After a three-year journey through cancer, he died with dignity, grace and faith in God. Alfred is survived by his wife of 51 years, Geraldine (Nicholson) Flewelling of Easton; two sons, Alan Flewelling of North Andover, Mass., and Kim Flewelling and his wife, Marissa, of Bowdoin; two daughters, Paula York and her husband, Faye, of Mapleton and Pam Ashby and her husband, Bill, of Owensboro, Ky.; beloved grandchildren, Travis, Angela, Christopher, Kasey, Danielle, Gabriel, Josiah, Silas, Isaac, Jackson, and Kennedy; three sisters, Phyllis Nadeau of Easton, Dorothy Larsen and her husband, Wilmot, of Dover-Foxcroft, and Doreen Jones and her husband, Josh, of Ohio; brother-in-law, Richard Leach of Easton; several nieces and nephews. He also will be missed by his friend and sister-in-law, Diane Holmes of Easton. He is predeceased by his sister, Vaida Leach and brother-in-law, Leo Nadeau, both of Easton. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle, with the Rev. Larry Palmer officiating. Friends and relatives may call from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Spring interment will be in Estes Park Cemetery, Easton.
