RUTH C. (AYERS) ANDERSON EDINBURG – Ruth C. (Ayers) Anderson, 90, wife of the late Roy Anderson, died Dec 12, 2003, at a Howland healthcare facility. She was born in Edinburg, Sept. 25, 1913, the daughter of William and Sarah (Eldridge) Ayers. Ruth was proud of the house she lived in all her life, the house that her grandfather built, and enjoyed working in her flower garden. She owned and operated a school bus for many years, and had worked as a supervisor at Atlas Plywood. She was a Registered Maine Guide and enjoyed hunting and fishing. She loved the logging business, had her own woods crews, and developed sub-divisions in Mattamiscontis and Edinburg. She also served as Edinburg Town Clerk, worked for the Red Cross and drove a taxi for many years. She is survived by a son, Gerald Anderson of Alaska; two daughters, Sylvia Belanger and Albert Belanger Sr. of Glenburn, and Louise Ferguson and Norman Niles of Edinburg; six grandchildren, Rod Anderson, and Roy Anderson, both of Florida, Christine Brown of Levant, Albert Belanger Jr. and Sharon of Glenburn, Kenneth Ferguson Jr. of Eureka, Calif., and Eric Ferguson and Marcia of Elizabeth City, N.C.; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, William Ayers; and a sister Emma Jordan. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clayton Crocker officiating.
