FALMOUTH – Alice E. Davis, 102, of Foreside Road, formerly of Machias and Baltimore, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at Falmouth by the Sea, Falmouth, after a long illness. She was born Jan. 21, 1904, in South Gardiner, a daughter of Harvey and Morcella (Howard) McLaughlin. She was raised in Machias by her grandparents, Edward and Sarah McLaughlin and attended schools in Machias. She was an active member of the Machias Valley Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge, Machias. She married Calvin L. Davis and after his death in 1966, she moved to Baltimore to be close to her daughter. While in Baltimore she enjoyed traveling with her daughter, taking trips to Greece, Turkey, Austria and the Scandinavian countries. Alice also enjoyed bowling and had been an active member of several leagues. She returned to Maine with her daughter and had been an active member of the West Falmouth Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Laura Maxwell of Pittsfield and Marcella Wilson of Falmouth Foreside; a grandson, William and his wife, Marilyn Graham, of Pittsfield; two great-grandchildren, Charles Graham III and Kristyn Plamondon; as well as two great-great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jillian Plamondon. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at East Kennebec Cemetery, Machias, with the Rev. George Henderson officiating. In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 163 Lancaster St., Portland, ME 04101.
