PITTSFIELD – Enrichetta DiPietro Franciosa Frost, 93, a resident of Summer Street, passed away Nov. 11, 2006, after a long illness at Sebasticook Valley Hospital. She was born Oct. 3, 1913, in Pettorano, Italy, the daughter of Michelo and Julia DiPietro. She married Domenick Franciosa Frost April 12, 1931, in Pettorano, Italy. She entered the United States through Ellis Island, N.Y., with their son, Dino, in late November 1937, to join her husband. They made their home in Pittsfield, where they raised their three sons on a farm with a cattle and poultry business. Her love for family, children and cooking of Italian pizzelle cookies were well known by every child in the neighborhood for three generations, as well as family weddings, parties and gatherings. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Saint Agnes Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Domenick in 1976; a daughter, Julia in 1933; and two brothers. Surviving are her three sons, Dino and his wife, Erlene Frost, Forest G. Frost, Roland Frost and his wife, Kathy, all of Pittsfield; six grandchildren, Brent and his wife, Kelli Frost, Dena and her husband, Rusty Hall, Eric and his wife, Julie Frost, Peter and his wife, Heidi Frost, all of Pittsfield, Stewart and his wife, DeDe Frost of Fryeburg, Troy and his wife, Stephanie Frost, of Hinckley; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Romeo and his wife, Julia DiPietro, of Medford, Mass., and Julio DiPietro of South America; three sisters, Maria DeMascio of Medford, Mass., Regina DelMonaco of Quincy, Mass., Antonina Zola of South America; one sister-in-law, Bambina Franciosa of Ontario, Canada; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends may call 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at Saint Agnes Catholic Church, Detroit Avenue, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Fr. Paul Kerns officiating. Interment will be at Village Cemetery, Peltoma Avenue, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Enrichetta’s memory may be made to Saint Agnes Church, 50 Detroit Ave., Pittsfield, ME 04967 or to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield.
