SEDGWICK – Alice “Snookie” Powers, 62, died Sept. 11, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1943 in Sedgwick, the daughter of Cecil K. and Adeline (Pert) Ford. Alice joined the Mountain Rebekah Lodge No. 87 Oct. 23, 1983, and served as Noble Grand for two years and Chaplain for 10 years. She was secretary and board member of the Island Food Pantry. Alice enjoyed selling shortcakes at the Blue Hill Fair for 17 years. She was a member of the North Sedgwick Baptist Church. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandson. She is survived by sons, Dana M. Powers Jr. of Sedgwick, Jeffrey W. Powers and wife, Susan, of Castine; daughters, Elizabeth Hutchinson and husband, Ricky, of Brooklin, Jody-Ann Ashmore and husband, Douglas, of Surry; four brothers and two sisters; grandchildren, Bryant, Samantha, Stephanie, Sabrina, Rebecca and Matthew; one great-grandson, Zane. She was predeceased by one brother and one sister. Calling hours are 9-10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at the North Sedgwick Baptist Church where a funeral service will follow 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Becker, officiating. Interment will be at Rural Cemetery, Sedgwick. Contributions in Alice’s memory may be made to the Mountain Rebekah Lodge No. 87 of Blue Hill, P. O.
