ORONO – Alice Y. Keene, 87, died March 10, 2006, at an Orono healthcare facility. She was born June 29, 1918, in Old Town, the daughter of Gideon and Annie (Gagnon) Lavigne. Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Keene of Orono; daughter-in-law, Verda Keene of Brewer; six grandchildren, Janice Keene, Willard R. Keene Jr., Richard Keene, Alan Keene, John Keene, all of Florida and Cooper Keene of Orono; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Willard H. Keene; and her son, Willard R. Keene. Relatives and friends are welcome to call noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m., with Pastor Ron Chaffee, pastor of the Old Town United Methodist Church, officiating.
