SCARBOROUGH – Allen Lee Carmichael, 81, formerly of Troy, died May 7, 2005, at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Scarborough. He was born in Fort Fairfield, the son of Delbert A. and Clara Carmichael. Allen attended school in Blaine. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from 1943 until 1947 and saw action during the D-Day Invasion. He was employed as a plasterer during the day and was employed for the former S.D. Warren Company in the evening. He retired from there in 1984. An avid hunter, he especially enjoyed caribou hunting. Four wheeling was another one of his interest. For many years, Allen enjoyed his camp on Notched Pond, in Raymond. He was a skilled story teller and enjoyed helping people. He was predeceased by his wife, Anne Caron Carmichael. Surviving are one son, Stephen A. Carmichael and his wife, Margaret “Peggy”, of Scarborough; one daughter, Anne C. Wright and her husband, David, of Rochester, N.H.; six grandchildren, Stephen, Amy, Jason, Theresa, David and Darlene; and five great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham where a funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be private.
