BELFAST – Annie C. Brierley, 87, of Belfast, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2004, at a local healthcare facility. She was born April 4, 1917, in Belfast, to John and Rebecca Leader Chalmers. Annie was vice president for Truitt Bros. in Belfast, in which she worked at the company for more than 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Northport Golf Club. She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Howard C. Larrabee Sr.; and eight sisters and brothers. Annie is survived by her husband, Everard “Pete” Brierley; a son, Howard Larrabee Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Texas; a stepson, Peter Brierley and wife, Maureen, of Texas; a daughter, Janice H. Hawthorne and husband, John, of Belfast; a stepdaughter, Sandra Butler and her husband, Donald, of New Jersey; and a stepdaughter, Dr. Sharon Brassey-Brierley of Massachusetts; one sister, Hope Chaples of Massachusetts; and one brother-in-law, Robert Bakeman of Belfast; eight grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2004, at the Rackliffe Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ernie Campbell officiating. Burial will be at a later time per family request.
