ST. GEORGE – Arthur M. Urann, Sr., 60, formerly of Sullivan, died unex-pectedly, Sun-day, Feb. 8, 2004. Born in Ellsworth, Aug. 20, 1943, he was the son of Malcolm E. and Anna Bean Urann. Growing up in Sullivan, he was a 1961 graduate of Sumner Memorial High School. In September of 1961, he entered the United States Coast Guard. For more than 20 years, he served throughout the New England 1st District, retiring as Petty Officer First Class in 1981. He enjoyed camping, fishing and four-wheeling. His family said he was a jack-of-all-trades who was always tinkering or fixing something. Arthur loved his dogs O-D and J-B. In addition to hiis mother of Sullivan, Arthur is survived by one son, Arthur “Mac” Urann, Jr. and his wife, Angie of Buchanan, Tenn.; his daughter, Marygean Storey and her husband, Kevin; the mother of his children, Donna Urann; his sister, Melanie McIntire and her husband, Marvin, all of Sullivan; his loving companion, Judith Hopkins of St. George; four grandchildren, Kilee, Killian, Kenna, Corey; a niece, Debra Doughty and her companion, David Wade; a nephew, Tim Doughty and his wife, Dawn. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14 at Jordan Funeral Chapel, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 500 Forrest Ave., Suite 6, Portland, ME 04101. Arrangements are under the direction of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland.
