BROOKLIN – Aubrey D. Allen, 88, died Nov. 11, 2004, at the Island Nursing Home, Deer Isle. He was born Jan. 30, 1916, in Brooklin, the son of Ernest and Grace T. (Thomas) Allen. Aubrey was in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served in the Pacific. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was the code enforcement officer for Brooklin for many years, plumbing inspector for several towns for many years, was a member of the Odds Fellow, Brooklin Masonic Lodge and a past member of OES. Aubrey is survived by a son, Kirby Allen of Brooklin; grandchildren, Brian and his wife, Karen Larkin, Ann Marie and husband, William Rioux, Kimberly and her husband, Dana Carter, Stephen and Rachel Larkin, and Aaron and Jenny Pettengill; great-grandchildren, Roger, Damien, Megan, Shane, Seth, Shannon, Jack, Avery, Peyton, Fiona and Max. He was predeceased by his wife, Rachel; a daughter, Joan Larkin; and a grandson, Ryan Allen.
