AURIL L. ‘BUD’ HARTIN OAKLAND – Auril L. (Bud) Hartin, 69, son of the late Sterling and Pearl Townsend Hartin, died Oct. 7, 2003, in Waterville. He married Stella MacArthur, the love of his life for 51 years, on March 23, 1952. He leaves behind his four children: two sons, Sterling and his wife, Lori Hartin, Bill and his wife, Tracy Hartin; two daughters, Laurel and her husband, Richard Vigue, and Bonnie Dunphy of Oakland; and 12 grandchildren, Christopher and his wife, Julie Hartin, Stacy and her husband, Lance Crosby, April Weeks and her fianc?e, Kevin Shores, Sierra, Aurilia, Austin, Creston and Cassidy Hartin, Tonia Dunphy and her fianc?e, Jason Fortier, Sterling III, Nickalaus, and Joycelyn Hartin; three great-grandchildren, Alexis and Zachary Hartin and Lillie Mae Fortier; a sister, Marilyn H. Noyes; his brother-in-law, Hugh MacArthur and his wife, Sue; sister-in-law, Judy Moffitt; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Elaine Ryan Bud was born in Island Falls and graduated from Island Falls High School. Throughout his working life, he operated tractor-trailers in many capacities. He loved country and bluegrass music and was an accomplished guitar player and singer. He enjoyed gathering with local musicians and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting and going to the “county”. He was a charter member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Waterville. A graveside service will be held Monday for all family members. A celebration of his life will follow at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at the Solid Rock Baptist Church, 66 Ridge Road, Waterville, for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Maine, P.O. Box 1134, Portland, ME 04104.
