HOWARD A. ‘PAPA’ TREADWELL MILFORD – Howard A. Treadwell, 67, husband of Laurel (Hallett) Treadwell, passed away Oct. 11, 2003, after a long illness. He was born Aug. 28, 1936, in Bangor, the son of Benjamin and Annie May (Mackenzie) Treadwell. Howard was one of a kind and was always thinking of his family and friends. He enjoyed his last summer at Pushaw Lake with his family and was also an avid camper. Howard was a very special and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Surviving in addition to his wife, Laurel, are nine children, Rick and his wife, Ann Treadwell, of Lincoln, Teri Mellott and Rick Segar of Winterport, George Hardgrove and his wife, Kelly, of Alton, Joanne and her husband, Brian Filtz, of Hudson, John Treadwell and his fianc?e, Jane Reynolds, of Bangor, Patti and her husband, Danny McPheters, of Milford, Lori and her husband, Peter Hamlin, of Concord, N.H., Howard Treadwell Jr. and his wife, Venise, of Levant, and Ann and Amanda Lucas of Old Town; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his brothers and sisters. Howard was predeceased by a grandson, George E. Hardgrove III. A private service for the family was held Oct. 12, 2003.
