BEATRICE D. GRAHAM AUGUSTA – Beatrice D. Graham, 84, of Eastern Avenue, Chelsea, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at Gray Birch Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 23, 1923, in Machiasport, the daughter of Stephen and Carrie (Hicks) Wood. Beatrice enjoyed NASCAR, horse racing, bowling, knitting, reading and especially yard sales. She worked as a dietician in Connecticut and a home care provider in Augusta. Beatrice was predeceased by her parents, beloved husband, Wallace Graham; son, Gregory Graham; and brothers, Kenneth and Stephen Wood. She is survived by daughters, Phoebe Johnson of Chelsea, Carol Bryant of Machias, Marilyn Marxo of Connecticut and Linda Markey of Connecticut; sons, Wallace Graham Jr. of Chelsea, Stephen Graham of Augusta, Roger Graham of Chelsea and Mark Graham of Augusta; sisters, Nonie Lopes of Connecticut, Margaret Flaherty of Machiasport, Lois Wassen of Old Town and Nellie Gatcomb of East Machias; brother, John Wood of Machiasport; 20 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. A burial service will be held in the spring in Jacksonville. Arrangements are under the care of Funeral Alternatives, LLC, 198 Western Ave., Augusta.
