DOVER-FOXCROFT – Beatrice M. “Bea” Chandler, 84, a resident of the Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft, formerly of Farmington, died early Thursday morning, Feb. 28, 2008, at her residence. She was born Nov. 26, 1923, in Wilton, the daughter of Raymond C. and Ruth E. (Wood) Whitney. She was a 1941 graduate of Wilton Academy and married Daniel Chandler, Dec. 4, 1943. He died June 2, 2004. She was a past worthy Matron of OES No. 143, and was a longtime member of the Grange and the Extension. Survivors include three sons, Adrian Chandler and his wife, Marilyn, of New Sharon, Bruce Chandler of Ellsworth, and Barry Chandler of Jay; two daughters, Cherrilynn Chandler of Monmouth, and Candace Leland and her husband, David, of East Sangerville; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence W. Whitney, in 2007. Family and friends are invited to call 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington. Public spring graveside services, under the direction of OES Chapter No. 143, will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, at Riverside Cemetery, Farmington.
