ORONO – Beatrice M. Perkins, 86, wife of the late Arthur Perkins, died peacefully July 26, 2004, at her home. She was born May 24, 1918, in Orono, the daughter of Alphonse and Jane (Robichaud). Beatrice enjoyed flowers, berry picking, and making dolls. She was one of the makers of the Ester Ayers Doll and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by one son, Harry Perkins Sr. and special friend, Betty Grant, of Orono; one son-in-law, Robert Voelker of Orono; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a very special sister, Odina Robichaud; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Alice Jean Voelker; and many brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Riverside Cemetery, Orono, with the Rev. Normand Richard, pastor of the Holy Family Parish, Old Town, officiating. A service of Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono.
