BANGOR – Beverly Ann Hazard departed this life July 11, 2008, after fighting stage IV breast cancer valiantly for more than four years. Born Beverly Ann Bennett, Sept. 23, 1962, in Waterbury, Conn., she was a graduate of Kennedy High School and Kaynor Technical’s Nursing Program. Before her illness she was an LPN, working in Connecticut at Park Manor, Waterbury, Conn., and in Maine at Bangor Mental Health Institution. An avid Scrabble and Boggle player, and a reader of mystery novels, Beverly continued to enjoy her leisure time up until the last month of her life. Beverly is survived by her parents, Henry and Dawn Bennett of Bradford; and her six beloved children, Bradley Bennett of Bangor, Chelsea Phillips of New London, Conn., and Billy, Tori, Ian and Callum, also of Connecticut. A service celebrating Beverly’s life will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith, Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, after the service.
