CARROLL PLT. – Birdie Ella Cole, 93, died Nov. 14, 2004, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born July 4, 1911, in Carroll, the daughter of Leoscar and Bertha (Davis) Cole. Birdie always stayed at home to care for her family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Harry Cole, Percy Cole, Cecil Cole, Ober Cole, Walter Cole, Ethel (Cole) Downs, and Florence (Cole) McLaughlin. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends. Among her survivors are special nieces, Lottie (McLaughlin) Cleveland, Evelyn (McLaughlin) Day, Mary (McLaughlin) Bailey and great-niece, Cathy (Severance) Kecki, as well as special cousins, Mildred (Downs) Clark and Hazle (Martin) and Marion Morrison. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Linda Hatch officiating. Interment will be in Stevens Cemetery, Carroll. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network.
