VAN BUREN – Blanche A. Fongemie, 83, died Dec. 28, 2005, at a Van Buren nursing home. She was born in St. David, Sept. 28, 1922, the daughter of Eddie and Laura (Cyr) Sirois. She was employed as bookkeeper in the family auto business, Fongemie Ford Sales in Van Buren for many years. Mrs. Fongemie was a member of the Ladies of Ste. Anne of St. David parish. She is survived by two sons, Allen Fongemie of Minneapolis, Minn., Kenneth Fongemie and his wife, Lorraine, of Van Buren; three daughters, Ruth Baker and her husband, Robert, of St. Paul, Minn., Deborah Nickerson and her husband, Jim, of Lewiston, Sandra Fongemie and Chuck Walsh of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Anna Gervais of St. David and Marie Mae Cote of Hartford, Conn.; one brother, Lawrence Sirois of Sanford; four grandchildren, Logan Baker, Forrest Knight, Ivan Knight, and Mica Knight. She was predeceased by her husband, Edmund Fongemie in 1985. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006 and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery.
