EDDINGTON – Carl “Mose” Moses Aldrich, 85, passed away peacefully, in his home that he built with his own hands, June 7, 2007, surrounded by his family. He was born March 2, 1922, in Lee. He moved to Eddington to work on his cousins’ farm. He was a quiet, gentle man respected by all who knew him. He lived a long and happy life, and was known for his love of the outdoors, working with wood and gardening. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was happiest when he was outside working. He cut wood for a living throughout his lifetime. He built several houses and camps for his family. He worked in several local wood related companies, such as R. Leon Williams Lumber Co., Peavey Manufacturing, Eddington and had been retired for 20 years. He was a dedicated father and faithful husband and his family was his whole life, and he will be missed by all of his loved ones. He was predeceased by his wife, Peggy (Gallant) Aldrich; and four of his siblings. He is survived by his five loving children and their families, his daughter, Sandra M. Knox and her husband, Rodney, of Eddington; his daughter, Bonnie LaPrise and her husband, Bob, of Benton; his only son, Richard Aldrich and wife, Donna, of Eddington; his daughter, Linda Bowe, who was by his side throughout his last years, when he was ill and needed help to stay in his own home, which he dearly loved, and her husband, William, of Brewer; his daughter, Laurie Aldrich of Brewer; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Veino of Lincoln. A private ceremony will be held at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Eddington, where he lived most of his life.
