PORTLAND – Caroline M. Fogg, 86, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at the Cedars. Born March 11, 1921, in Portland, she was the daughter of Harold K. and Gladys M. Farwell Maxfield. Caroline was a longtime member of North Deering Congregational Church. She was a member of the Woman’s Guild, the Kumdoubles Club, Mayflower Society, a treasurer for the Female Samaritan Society, taught Sunday school and served as a den mother. She was dedicated to her church and enjoyed church work, loved knitting and enjoyed traveling. She was married to Maynard H. Fogg, June 12, 1943. In addition to her husband, Caroline is survived by two sons, Kenneth Fogg and his wife, Margaret, of Standish and Stanley Fogg and his wife, Helen, of Hermon; two sisters, Dorothy Wilson of Portland and Elizabeth Perry of West Virginia; two nieces, Ruth Green of Portland and Jean Burdick of West Virginia; two aunts, Beatrice Spiller and Alta Farwell, eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at North Deering Congregational Church, 1364 Washington Ave., Portland, with the Rev. Mark Rustin officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
