BREWER and BUCKSPORT Charlene Carrie Cole Robicheau passed from this Earth into the welcoming arms of her heavenly Savior Nov. 4, 2007, surrounded by loving family mem-bers, after a brief illness. Char-lene was born Jan. 1, 1930, in Bucksport, to Charles Edward and Beryl (Daggett) Cole. She went to Bucksport sch-ools and was a proud member of the Class of 1947 at Bucksport High School. She was married to Donald Robicheau until his death in 1997. Char-lene was a lifelong homemaker. She and her husband operated the Crow’s Nest Restaurant, Bucksport, for several years. She was employed at Home-Gas, Brewer, for five years. She was also employed by the National Council on Aging, and Faith in Action, Bangor. She was a faithful and active participant in Penobscot Valley Church of Christ of Bangor. She volunteered at Manna Soup Kitchen and was a proud Troop Greeter at Bangor International Airport. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was active up until her final illness and took great joy in her flower and vegetable gardens. Charlene was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Donald. She is survived by her daughter, Donnalene of Bangor; her three sons, Charles and wife, Brenda, of Bucksport, Lance and wife, Robin, of Plainfield, N.H., and Edmond and Karen of Liverpool, N.Y.; grandchildren, Michael and wife, Jennifer, of Bangor, Joseph of Bucksport, Benjamin, Bailey Jane and Bryan of Liverpool, N.Y., Kyle, Eric and Skye of Plainfield, N.H., and Katrina Walls of Garland. She is also survived by her sister, Elma May and her husband, Elmer Lowell, of Penobscot and their children; a sister-in-law and sister of the heart, Alice (Robicheau) Nash and her family of Marina, Calif.; brother-in-law, Roy Maynard and his wife, Alice, of Brewer and their family. She leaves behind her large family of friends too numerous to mention. Special thanks to Anne Lever, her niece. Many thanks to New Hope Hospice. There is a legend, inspired by the Eskimos: Perhaps it is not stars in the sky, but the light of our dear departed lost ones who shine their light down upon us to let us know how happy they are. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday with Penobscot Valley Church of Christ participating. Charlene loved flowers but, if you prefer, donations may be made in her memory to Penobscot Valley Church of Christ or Manna, Inc.
