BAILEYVILLE – Charles Allison “Knuck” Crosby, 77, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at a Calais hospital. Charlie was born March 31, 1928, in Little Ridge, N.B., the son of the late Norman and Elsie (Weatherby) Crosby. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Charlie married Beverly Suddy June 11, 1949, in Edmunds. He was employed as a scaler for Georgia Pacific in Baileyville for more than 30 years, retiring in 1992. Charlie was a member of Sherman Bros. Post No. 3 American Legion in Calais, Quarter Century Club at Georgia Pacific and a member and past president of the Spednic Club in Baileyville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball and gardening. Charlie was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Hallowell. Surviving are his wife of more than 56 years, Beverly; five children, Muriel McPhee and husband, James, Diane Roderick and Bill Garrymoore, Frank Crosby and wife, Sandra, Jerry Crosby and Nancy Treadwell and Philip Crosby and wife, Cathy, all of Baileyville; two sisters, Constance Allen and husband, Fred, of Dennysville and Norma Cox and husband, Sam, of Edmunds; a brother-in-law, Herbert Hallowell of Edmunds; seven grandchildren, Candy Roderick and companion, Jamie Crowe, Craig Roderick Jr. and companion, Trina Nielson, Stacy Crosby, Lee Crosby and fiance, Chad Seelye, Jennie Crosby and companion, Dave Kneeland, Elizabeth Crosby, and Alison Crosby; best friends, Jennie and Phil Kilby of Edmunds; and his canine companion, Tigger. Friends may call 2-3 p.m. Wednesday at People’s United Methodist Church, Third Avenue, Baileyville, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. with Pastor Bernie Hammond officiating.
