KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Charles Kenneth Scott, 84, a resident of Kissimmee, Fla. for more than 50 years, passed away Jan. 26, 2006, at Florida Hospital, Kissimmee, Fla. He was born Oct. 30, 1921, in Calais, a son of Jerry and Alice (Lawler) Scott and was a graduate of Calais Academy. Prior to moving to Florida, he was employed by Stewart’s Furniture Store and local movie theaters in the Calais area. He was a member of the Calais Masonic Lodge. Mr. Scott was employed by Martin Marietta in Orlando for many years, retiring in 1986. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, serving in England, participating in D-Day and the campaigns in France, Belgium and Germany. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Evelyn Sgritta, Elizabeth Clark and Mary Mahar. Survivors include nieces, Joyce St. Pierre of Brunswick, Marilyn Rowe of Freeport; nephews, Harley Clark Jr. of Calais and Tom Sgritta of Mooresville, N.C. Special recognition and gratitude for care and compassion during his illness is extended to Kay Clark of Pearl, Miss. and Helen Beatty of Kissimmee, Fla. Spring interment will be in Calais Cemetery.
