BELFAST – Charles S. Brown, 81, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, surrounded by his family at Penobscot Bay Medical Center, Rockport. He was born May 8, 1926, in Morrill, son of Wilbert A. and Annie Stuart Brown. Mr. Brown attended First Church, Belfast. He was active in the Masons for more than 57 years, receiving the 33rd Degree of Masonry. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Floyd Lipton Brown. Charles is survived by her two daughters, Lenore Mullen of Augusta and Deb Lipton-Morin of Belfast; six grandchildren, Joe Moody, John and Scott Mullen of Augusta, Amy Mullen of San Diego, Kevin Himes of Gorham and Jen Hartwell of Auburn; three great-grandchildren, Amanda Moody of Auburn, Daniel Moody and Matthew Gill of Westbrook and Lucy Himes of Gorham. He is also survived by two brothers, Harold E. Brown of Belfast and Willard and Anne Brown of Ovida, Fla.; three nephews and their families, Duncan and Suzie Brown of Swanville, Juanita “Chipper” Berry of Frankfort, Sharon Segebarth and David and Kay Brown of Geneva, Fla., several great-nieces, great-nephews and many Masonic brothers. Family and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at First Church of Belfast, Church Street, where a funeral with Masonic service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, to celebrate Charles Brown’s life with the Rev. Kate Winters and the Rev. Joel Krueger officiating. Those who wish may make donations in Charlie’s memory to Shriners Childrens Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
