PLANT CITY, Fla. – Charlotte Tilton York, wife of 50 years to James York, went on to glory Oct. 12, 2007, after a short illness. Charlotte enjoyed knitting, rocking in her chair, dancing, singing and playing bingo with her friends at Spanish Main Resort, Thonotosassa, Fla., where she lived for the past 27 years. Over the past years, she enjoyed knitting slippers and crocheting afghans for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, not to mention the ones that she made and gave away to friends and family. Charlotte loved the Lord and on Sept. 30, of this year, her granddaughter, Ashley, led her to the Lord, so now she is singing with the angels. Charlotte is survived by her mother, Laura Shedd, 96, of Mattawamkeag; daughters, Rhonda and Don Crotty of Plant City, Fla., and Sandra Whitehouse of Finger, Tenn. Charlotte is survived by seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A memorial was held Dec. 1, at Faith Wesleyan Church, Lakeland, Fla.
