LONGWOOD, Fla. – Christine Hammond Clark, 87, died unexpectedly Feb. 26, 2006, at a Florida hospital after undergoing treatment for a severe stroke. Born June 19, 1918, in Bangor, the daughter of Carl P. and Myrtle Mitchell Hammond of Bangor. She attended schools in Bangor, graduating from Bangor High School in 1936. Married Lieutenant Stephen Clark, June 21, 1942, in Santa Maria, Calif. Survivors include her husband, Colonel Stephen Clark of Longwood, Fla.; two brothers and their families, William Hammond of Belfast and Ralph Hammond of Brooks; one sister, Louise Fitzpatrick and family of Braintree, Mass. Private funeral services may be conducted by survivors as desired. Cremated remains will be interred later. Memorial contributions may be made to organizations of choice.
