MADAWASKA – Claude Bard, 87, died June 7, 2006, at a Fort Kent hospital. He was born, May 9, 1919, in Frenchville, the son of Joseph H. and Phebrenie (Michaud) Bard. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the 10th Mountain Infantry Division in the Asiatic and European Theaters. He was a member of the Thomas O. Cyr Legion Post No. 147 of Madawaska. Claude is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Bard of Madawaska, Norma Berube and her husband, Dan, of Madawaska, Rachel Bates and her husband, Chester, of Sullivan; two sons, Raynold and his wife, Therese, of Baton Rouge, La., Roderick and his wife, Barbara, of Hooksett, N.H.; one brother, Richard Bard of Caribou; two sisters, Rose Deprey of Fort Kent, Virginia Fongemie of Madawaska. He was predeceased by his wife, Estelle (Hebert) Bard Dec. 19, 2005. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska. Friends and relatives may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday until time of service at the Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
