WEST ENFIELD – Corace Elnora (Bates) McMann, 62, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by family and friends, Oct. 18, 2004. She was predeceased by her father, Norman L. Shorey; and an older brother, Leonard H. Shorey. She is survived by her devoted mother, Norma Shorey; and five siblings, Dennis Shorey and his wife, Mary, from Vermont, Sharon Quesada and her husband, Norm, from Enfield, Michael Shorey and his wife, Karen, from Pennsylvania, Keith Shorey and his wife, Veronica, from Burlington and Kelly Cookson and her husband, Don, from Middlefield, Conn. She is also leaving her much loved sons, Ronald Bates and his wife, Kathleen, from Westbrook, Danny Bates and his wife, Monique, from St. Albans, Vt.; and her sons’ father, Kelton Bates from Patten; as well as seven precious grandchildren, Abraham, Amy, Luke, Corrine, Kassie, Kristina and Kelsey. She also had many nieces, nephews and friends. Corace lived in Connecticut for many years and enjoyed her job as a secretary but when she moved back to Maine to take care of her mother she did nursing for CHC and Area Home Health Care. She was loved by her patients and their families. Her sense of humor was enjoyed by all who knew her. She spent many days fishing at Nicatous Lake.
