HARRINGTON – David died peacefully Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, with his family at his side. He was born Aug. 8, 1925, in Harrington, the son of David and Alice (Grant) Young. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having received the Purple Heart. He retired from Fafnir Bearing of New Britian, Conn. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 8 of Cherryfield and Osceola Grange of Harrington. He is survived by two sons, Roger K. and David Jr. of Conn.; and a daughter, Edna Dvorovy of Harrington; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice DeLong of Columbia Falls and Irene Bagley of Harrington; special friends, Chester Smith of Harrington, Richard and Kathy Stephenson of Florida and James Stellon of Mass. He was predeceased by his wife, Vera (Dorr) Young; and two daughters, Hilda and Peggy. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Rock Maple Cemetery, Harrington with military honors, officiated by Rev. Clive Meidahl.
