CALAIS – Corey Leigh Wentworth, 22, died Saturday, June 17, 2006, surrounded by his family and Boston’s best medical team of doctors and nurses, after a long and courageous nine-year battle with leukemia, at Children’s Hospital in Boston. Corey was born March 25, 1984, in Calais, son of Darryl Wentworth and Brenda (Bohanon) Spear. He graduated from Woodland High School, Class of 2002 and New England School of Communications in Bangor with an A.S. in audio engineering and a bachelors of science in communications. Corey enjoyed playing his guitar, music, video games and playing in his band named “Useless.” Surviving are his mother, Brenda Spear and husband, Dan, of Calais; his father, Darryl Wentworth and wife, Lisa, of Princeton; maternal grandparents, Carlton and Eva Bohanon of Calais; paternal grandparents, Sonny and Eleanor Wentworth of Princeton; two brothers, Jonathan Fitzsimmons and Nathan Spear, both of Calais; three stepsisters, Tricia Candelmo of Perry, Donna Candelmo of Perry and Cassandra McPhail of Princeton; four aunts and uncles, Debbie and Don Wilson of Indiana, Donna and Jason Worden of Princeton, Evelyn and Russ Belanger of Buxton and Pam and Jeff Mitchell of Levant; many cousins, friends and his turtle, “Lil Dude.” Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Linwood Trott officiating. Burial will be at South Princeton Cemetery.
