FORT KENT and ORRINGTON – Cindy Albert-Ames unselfishly gave her heart and other organs to help save the lives of total strangers, March 20, 2008, after a brief and unexpected illness. She was but 46 years of age last July 26. The first child of Edna and Camille Albert of Fort Kent, Cindy Albert went to school in Aroostook County, graduating from Wisdom High School, and later the University of Maine at Presque Isle. She worked for about 10 years at her family restaurant before her husband changed her address once again. She spent the next 13 years caring for and supporting a huge number of friends and family, and excelling at the daunting job of devoted wife. She also enjoyed watching her nieces and nephews, plus sporting events. A special thanks goes to the swift Bangor EMTs and good people at Eastern Maine Medical, whose tireless care allowed friends and family to say goodbye, and to New England Organ Bank, who allowed Cindy to give life to others and allow everyone the hope that she continues on. We must never forget that time is too short, so express your love to someone special at every chance. She is survived by her husband, Don Albert-Ames of Orrington; her parents, Edna (Guerrette) and Camille Albert of Fort Kent; brother, David Albert and his wife, Tammy; beloved Goddaughter and niece, Marissa and her brother, Garrett, all of Wallagrass; brother, Kurt Albert and his wife, Kristi, and their children, Caitlin, Chris, Seth and Shanya, all of Gorham; sister, Susie Martin and her husband, Mike, and their children, Ryan, Travis and Mika, all of Burlington, Conn.; and special niece, Kelly Fountaine of Sullivan; plus almost countless aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, out-laws and friends. In consideration of her wishes, there will be no public viewing. A celebration of her life will be held 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor. Those wishing to remember Cindy may make contributions to Easter Maine Medical Center, Cardiac Care Unit, 489 State St., Bangor, ME 04401 or the American Diabetes Association, 163 Lancaster St., Portland, ME 04101.
