DENNISTOWN – Harold H. Coro, 58, died March 20, 2008, with his family by his side. Harold “always stood his ground, never backing down,” including his three-year battle with cancer. Everything about Harold and his life were extraordinary. His unique journey began with meeting his future wife, Linda (McAllister), at the young age of eight years old. They shared a rare bond; one that most can only read about in fictional tales, but for Harold and Linda it was real and culminated in a marriage of almost 40 years. From the time he was a young boy, Harold followed his father and grandfather as they worked in the woods. He started working in the woods at age 19. Harold was employed as a logging foreman for several years and in 1996, he and Linda started their own business, H & L Coro Logging, which they owned and operated until selling the business in 2006. Harold was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, his “Sandy Beach,” and cooking his famous three-inch steaks on the grill for 10, 20 or 30 people. Most of all, he loved his family, his wife, children and grandchildren, who were the center of his world, as he was the center of theirs. He was a beloved father and “Papa” who taught his children and grandchildren not only about the woods he knew so well, but how to live a life filled with morality, generosity, courage and love. He will be missed so much by so many. His father, Hubert Coro; and three brothers, Peter, Michael and Alfred Coro, predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, Linda (McAllister) Coro of Dennistown; daughter, Allison (Coro) Desjardins; son-in-law, Michael; and granddaughters, Hayley and Maddison, all of Saco. His son, Courtney Coro; daughter-in-law, Jessica; granddaughter, Ashley; and grandson, Chase, all of Saco, also survive him. He is also survived by his mother, Mildred (Nadeau) Coro; and six sisters, Linda Hall, Connie Coleman, Corinne Coro, Bonnie Zelno, Christine Roberts and Jane Beaudry; many loving nieces, nephews and many, many special friends. As per Harold’s wishes there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution in his name to Jackman Regional Health Center, 376 Main St., Jackman, ME 04945.
