BANGOR – Dana L. Irving, 59, died Oct. 10, 2003, at a Bangor nursing facility. He was born Oct. 21, 1943, in Rockland, the son of Dana Irving and Louise Russell. Dana served in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Thomas College and was a member of Kappa Delta Phi. Dana worked for R. H. Foster Energy LLC for 15 years, and was wholesale transport manager. He also was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Irving of Bangor; one daughter, Kellie J. Irving and her partner, Oliver Davis, of Portland; sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Paul Pellerin of Winslow; brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Juanita Roy of Hollister, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, James and Carmen Roy of Klathmouth Falls, Ore.; aunt, Zilda Kaler of Camden; two uncles, George Russell of Warren, and Ronald Russell and his wife, Carolyn, of Rockland; brother-in-law, Dr. David Roy of Montreal; several cousins; life long friend, Judy Poland of St. Augustine, Fla.; friends, Joan and Robert Carter of Machias; friends, Sam and Ellen Hands of Stetson. He was predeceased by a special cousin, Bobby Kaler. A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, director of Chaplaincy Services at EMMC, and Dr. David Roy, officiating. Interment will be private for the family. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately following the service. Memorial donations in Dana’s memory may be sent to Hospice of Eastern Maine, care of Eastern Maine Charities, P.O. Box 404, Bangor, ME 04401-0404.
