MADAWASKA and FORT KENT – Danny R.P. Michaud Ed. D. died peacefully July 4, 2007, at Maine Medical Center, Portland. He was born Oct. 29, 1953, in St. Agatha, the son of Clifford and Yvette (Hebert) Michaud. Danny was a member of the Maine School Superintendents Association, Aroostook County Superintendents, the Maine Development Foundation, Leadership, National Association of Partners in Education Inc., New England Association of Superintendents, and the American Association of School Administrators. He was superintendent of Madawaska, Eastport and SAD 43, Mexico; principal at the following schools, Mountain Valley High School SAD 43, Schenck High School, East Millinocket, Van Buren District Secondary High School 9-12; assistant principal at Van Buren Secondary school; and taught social studies in Van Buren. Throughout his career as an educational administrator he strived to make the best possible learning environment for the students to achieve their greatest potential. He was a devoted husband and father and his daughters’ happiness was his utmost concern. Danny enjoyed going to the flea market and antique shops, collection old tins, memorabilia and kayaking. In addition to his mother of Lewiston, he is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Mary Helen (Swan) Michaud of Madawaska; three daughters, Wendy K. and her husband, Jason Cushman, of Waterloo, Ontario, Sara A. Michaud of Charlotte, N.C., and Amanda M. Michaud of Madawaska; three brothers, David and his wife, Brenda Michaud, Donald and his wife, Sara-Kay Michaud, all of Fort Kent, and Dennis Michaud of Lewiston; nieces, Amy and her husband, Brad Powicki, of Epping, N.H., Jennifer and her husband, Brian Morgan, of Londonderry, N.H., and Melissa Michaud of Fort Kent; and two nephews, Eric and Connor Michaud, both of Fort Kent. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday untill time of service at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, with the Rev. David Raymond officiating. Committal service information will be announced in the Saturday addition of the Bangor Daily News.
