STEUBEN – David Robert “Red” McGouldrick, 66, died Monday, March 14, 2005, after a long illness, with his daughter holding his hand and his wife looking on. We “‘magine” he is at peace now. Born Jan. 1, 1939, in Pownal, Maine, he grew up living and working throughout the northern and downeast area. He settled in Steuben in 1962 and started his collection of “stuff”. He worked numerous jobs, but mostly he worked in the woods. In later years he hauled rubbish. He retired several years ago due to his illness. He was predeceased by his special companion and friend, Florence Seavey. He is survived by his mother, May V. Shain of Calais; his wife, Lucy, daughter, Roberta Tulley and husband, Stephen, of Old Orchard Beach; two sets of twin grandchildren, Jennifer Tulley, Jill and husband, Scott Johnson, Joel Tulley and fiance, Cassandra Cushenberry, and Jessie Tulley; a granddaughter of the heart, April Seavey. Great-grandchild, Riley Joel Tulley; and two more on the way. Red will also be missed by his long time companion of 12 years, Bear. A special thanks to all of you who looked out for him over the years! Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge, where memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Joyce Ingrisano officiating.
