SHERMAN and MELBOURNE, Fla. – Lawrence Conroy, passed away March 16, 2005, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer at Holmes Regional Hospital in Melbourne, Fla. He was born April 24, 1925, in Sherman, the son of the late William and Etta (Young) Conroy. Lawrence was self-employed all his life, working various jobs. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his wife of two years, Essie, of Melbourne; four children, Jeannette Rush and her husband, Vincent, of Mattawamkeag, Richard and his wife, Judy, of Milford, Frank and his wife, Darilee, of Bradley, Marilyn Hewes and her husband, Randy, of Mattawamkeag; nine stepchildren; 12 grandchildren; 19 stepgrandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 24 great-stepgrandchildren; one great- great-granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Loretta; his second wife, Beulah; a daughter, Blanche Conroy; one grandson, Lee Rush; two brothers, Andrew and Eugene. Lawrence had many friends and was well liked wherever he went. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 18, at the Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home, Melbourne, Fla. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2005, at Kilburn Funeral Home in Lebanon, Ohio. Interment will be in Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, Ohio.
