DELIA C. THISTLEWOOD LUBEC – Delia C. (Stewart) Thistlewood, 91, died Jan. 9, 2004, at a Machias hospital. She was born April 24, 1912, in Lubec, the daughter of Alonzo and Lina (Ryerson) Stewart. She enjoyed gardening, pickling vegetables, and loved to crochet. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by three daughters, Annie Jones, Florence and husband, Loren Lank, and Bessie and husband, Roy Kelley, all of Lubec; two stepchildren, Russell Thistlewood of Colorado, and Doris and her husband, Herbie Archibald of Westbrook; a sister, Kathleen Delguarda of Hawaii; two half-sisters, June of Portland, and Doris of Carmel; 35 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Dean Thistlewood; three brothers, Oscar, Gerald and George; a sister, Bessie Hall; and two daughters, Shirley Stewart, and Lorna Trott. She was a loving mother and grandmother to all her children. She loved all children, even those who were not her own. She was a special lady that we will never forget and will hold forever in our hearts. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, at the Lubec Christian Church, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, with pastor Gary Look officiating.
