DELMAR N. ‘BO’ CYR HILLIARD, Fla. and DANFORTH – Delmar N. “Bo” Cyr, 75, died Sept. 21, 2005, at Hilliard, Fla. after a period of illness. Born Jan. 4, 1930 in Danforth, son of Nathan D. and Lois E. Cyr. He left in 1949 to enlist in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was Honorably Discharged as a staff sergeant. After a brief stint as a field technical representative for RCA service company, he began a Civil Service Career with the Department of Defense at Keesler Air Force Base, at Biloxi, Miss. in 1956. In 1971, he moved to the Department of Transportation, as an electronics technician with the Federal Aviation Administration. He retired from the Air Route Traffic Control Center in Hilliard, Fla., Aug. 31, 1990, with a combined Federal Service of 39 years. He made his home in Hilliard and was a member of the Hilliard United Methodist Church, Amelia Lodge No. 47, Free and Accepted Masons, the Scottish Rite Masons, Valley of Jacksonville, and the Masters and Wardens Association of the 9th and10th districts. His hobby was model railroading; he was a member of the National Model Railroad Association, and also of the Sunshine Region, NMRA. He spent his retirement summers at the family cottage in East Grand Lake, Weston and worked with the Danforth/East Grand Alumni Association. He is survived by his wife, Vivian; two grandchildren, Christina and Sammy Zieger of Rochester, N.Y.; and several cousins. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Hilliard First Alliance Church with another service at the Weston Community Church at a later date. Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Hilliard First Alliance Church. Burial will be in the Danforth Cemetery.
