MILLINOCKET – Delores J. McFarlane, 76, entered into rest after a courageous battle with cancer Monday, Sept. 12, 2005. She was the beloved wife of the late John McFarlane Sr. Delores was born Oct. 31, 1928, the daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Dineen) LePage. She was educated in local Millinocket schools, graduating from Stearns High School. She was an avid reader, enjoying many stories of fiction and mystery. Mrs. McFarlane enjoyed crocheting, quilting and knitting, but, overall, was a devoted mother and grandmother. In her spare time, she volunteered at the St. Martin’s Thrift Shop. Mrs. McFarlane is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Washington of Phoenix, Ariz. and Sharon Tapley and her husband, Edward Jr., of Millinocket. She also leaves her sister, Linda Boyd and her husband, Elliott, of Dover-Foxcroft; her grandchildren, Christopher McFarlane, Edward “Sam” Tapley, Aprylle Tapley and Allison McFarlane; her great-grandchildren, Eddie Tapley, John Tapley, Makayla Pepper and Ava Tapley and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. McFarlane was predeceased by her two sons, Michael and John McFarlane. Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Millinocket. Burial will follow in Millinocket Cemetery.
