LINNEUS – Dola Faye (Dwyer) Lilley, 84, died Dec. 25, 2005, at her residence. She was born April 3, 1921, in Weston, the daughter of George and Ida (Coffee) Dwyer. Dola and her twin sister, Doris attended Danforth schools and graduated from Danforth High School, Class of 1938. She was an active member of the Linneus Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She married George E. Lilley Nov. 29, 1938, and they made their home in Orient for many years until moving to their home in Linneus in 1953. She assisted her husband with payroll and bookkeeping in their construction and trucking business, until their retirement in 1984. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will also be remembered as a wonderful cook, which she enjoyed very much, until failing health prevented her from doing many of the activities she enjoyed. She loved sharing her efforts, particularly homemade breads, rolls and cookies with area friends, neighbors and family. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Additon of Turner; two grandsons, Christopher Additon of Walpole, Mass. and Matthew Additon of Old Orchard Beach; one brother, Hartley Dwyer of Weston; a special niece, Linda Palmer of Linneus; a special friend of 64 years, Lorraine Sherwood of Presque Isle, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George Lilley in 2004; infant daughter, Eleanor in 1940; son, Gordon in 1992; daughter-in-law, Peggy in 1997; son-in-law, Ken Additon in 2003; twin sister, Doris Lawler in 2004; sisters, Myrtle Bragdon, Kathryn Genthner and Glennis Bell; and brothers, Stanley and Montie Dwyer. Friends may call 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, until time of services at noon, with the Rev. James Pittman, officiating. Spring interment will be in the Linneus Cemetery.
