MADAWASKA – Donald Plourde, 73, died July 7, 2006, at a Fort Kent hospital. He was born April 14, 1933, in Madawaska, the son of Ernest and Laura (Morneault) Plourde. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (McHenry) Plourde of Madawaska; three daughters, Debra Gauvin and her husband, Andrew, of Hancock, Sandra Tardif and her husband, Mike, of Madawaska, Laura Dumais and her husband, Kenneth, of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Jackie St. Jarre of Madawaska; one brother, Norman Plourde of St. David; 10 grandchildren, Adam and Sarah Gauvin, Amanda Tardif, Shayna, Zachary, Caleb, Samuel, Grace, Emma and Naomi Dumais; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Friends and relatives may call 9 a.m. until time of services at the Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or to the St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
