NEWPORT – Donna M. Downs, 77, died Oct. 21, 2006, at her Summer Street residence. She was born July 19, 1929, in Guilford Center, a daughter of Edward and Isabelle (Burgess) Church. She attended Guilford schools and had been employed at the Irving Tannery, Hartland. Donna is survived by two sons, Carroll “Red” Downs Jr. and wife, Marjorie, of Newport, Michael and wife, Debbie Downs, of Hickory, N.C.; a daughter, Deborah and husband, Francois Rouillard, of Exeter; three brothers, Maynard and wife, Marcia Church, of Dexter, Norman Church of Newport and Keith Church of Winslow; six grandchildren, six great-grand-children and a great-great- granddaughter, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Downs Sr. Sept. 22, 2003; three sisters, Vivian, Crystal and Virginia; and a grandson, Scotty. At her request, there will be no visitation. Graveside committal services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in the family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland, with Pastor Buddy Gough officiating.
