WOODLAND – Dora E. Thomas, 86, wife of the late Wesley Thomas, died Sept. 24, 2006, in Caribou. She was born April 22, 1920, in Washburn, the daughter of Charles and Sophie (Page) Burby. She attended Washburn schools and was a graduate of Caribou High School. Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she was very active in church organizations including teaching catechism, CYO and volunteering many hours at the Good Samaritan Shop. She loved to crochet and shared many of her creations with her family, friends and many shut ins. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Ann “Ginny” Donovan of Woodland; two sons, William Henry Thomas and Stephen John Thomas, both of Woodland; one sister, M. Virginia Harmon of Fairfield; six grandchildren, Norma Levesque and her husband, Terry, of Presque Isle, Adam and Jeremy Thomas, both of Woodland, Isaac Thomas of Florida, Brian Donovan and his wife, Nicole, of New Hampshire and Heather Thomas and her fiance, Ryan Mann, of Winslow; three great-grandsons, Trevor, Tyler and Torey Levesque; and one great-granddaughter, Adelyn Thomas; special family friends, Louise and Libby Espling; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thomas was predeceased by her husband of more than 64 years, Wesley, May 26, 2006; a daughter, Natalie Jean Thomas; and three sons, Albert Wesley Thomas, Galen Charles Thomas and Paul Frederick Thomas. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
