CARIBOU – Doris Green, 79, wife of Oscar Green, died March 6, 2006, in Caribou. She was born July 23, 1926, in Caribou, the daughter of Joseph Abel and Bertha Olieda (St.Peter) Cyr. She was educated in the Holy Rosary Catholic School and also attended Caribou High School. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was a member of the Auxiliary to the Knights of Columbus and the VFW Lister-Knowlton Post No. 9389. She married Oscar Green Dec. 14, 1943. Surviving in addition to her husband of Caribou are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Roy and Lucinda Jean Green of Newmarket, N.H. and Philip Green of Otis; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda Green of Plainville, Conn., Jean and Max Sanchez of Belen, N.M. and Nancy and Roger Vincent of Davenport, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Judy Cyr of Bangor; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Bob Hill of Bennettville, S.C.; three sisters-in-law, Lolita Cyr of Lewiston, Donna Pelletier of Caribou and Judy Cyr of Albany, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and by special friends, Marie Wilcox and Christine Theriault. She was predeceased by a daughter, Betty Gorney; three brothers, Donald, Dick and Vincente Cyr; and by a sister, Joan Beeube. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 9, from the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home, with Fr. David Raymond, associate pastor, officiating.
