PORTLAND – Doris W. Casey, 90, of the Portland Center for Assisted Living, 68 Devonshire St. and formerly of Lee and Calais, passed away Friday, March 11, 2005, at the Barron Center, 1145 Brighton Avenue, Portland. She was born in Milltown, N.B. Canada, the daughter of the late James and Georgianna (Davidson) Eagan. Doris was predeceased by her first husband, Robert R. Whitten of Lee; her second husband, John G. Casey of Calais; and her youngest son, James E. Whitten of Gray. She is survived by a son, Jon M. Whitten and wife, Charlene, of South Portland; daughter-in-law, Minerva Whitten of Gray; grandchildren, Michael Whitten of New Vineyard, Julie Whitten Fitzherbert of South Portland, Christopher Whitten of Poland, Matthew Whitten of Arlington, Va., Stephen Whitten of Portland; sister, Mildred Baxter of Waterville; several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 18, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Gray. Interment and graveside services will be held in the spring at the North Cemetery in Lee. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Barron Center Resident Council Fund, 1145 Brighton Ave., Portland, ME 04102. Arrangements are under the care of Funeral Alternatives, LLC, 500 Route One, Yarmouth.
